When to Go

Colón has a pleasant weather both in the summer (November to March), when temperatures are between 23º and 34ºC, and during winter, when the lows are 10ºC and highs reach 19ºC. Every year the city hosts the National Party of Craftsmanship during the month of February. Since there have been good artisans come out of this region, the celebration began in 1978 as a local event, yet with time it acquired national reputation and nowadays it is considered an important crafts event in the continent. Also in February, the city gathers for carnival celebrations, at which they celebrate with traditions of the people of Colón. Make sure to check for events going on in nearby communities, as there are many festivals throughout the year in San José, Villa Elisia, Pueblo Liebig, among others.
