Safety

Puerto Iguazú is a pleasant and relatively safe town. That said, theft is not unheard of and visitors should exercise common sense. Keep an eye on belongings, place jewelry and valuables in safe deposit boxes in hotels, and only change money in authorized banks and exchange booths. The tourist police can be contacted on free phone 0800-999-5000, if needed.
