Posadas, a city of 400,000 inhabitants and the capital of Misiones province since the 1880’s, is a great stop on the way both to Paraguay and the Iguazú waterfalls. Spreading out along the river Paraná it has a vibrant waterfront, bustling center and beautiful views of Paraguay which lies directly across the river. Perched mostly above the river on hilly slopes that go down towards the water, parts of Posadas are reminiscent of San Francisco with their sweeping hills and views of the Puente San Roque Gonzalez, the impressive international bridge which connects Argentina to its neighbor.
