Corrientes Hotels

For mysterious reasons Corrientes has very few places to stay and many are really overpriced. Finding cheap accommodation is difficult; expect to pay prices that rival any super-touristy resort town. Expect to pay between $145-200 a night for a double room in an upscale hotel. Corrientes does have a few choices for backpackers, like a new hostel downtown and a few cheap, basic hospedajes across from the bus station, along Avenida Maipú.

The nearest campground is at Laguna Soto, nine kilometers (5.4 mi) east of Corrientes city (Ruta Provincial 7, near the turn-off for Santa Ana de los Guácaras; city bus 109 from Plaza Torrent, $0.45). Camping Puente Pexoa is 18 kilometers (10.8 mi) south of Corrientes capital, in Riachuelo (Tel: 3783-48-5001, E-mail: info@municipioriachuelo.gov.ar, URL: www.municipioriachuelo.gov.ar).
