Just For Kids - Museum Rosario - Argentina

Hey, kids. Tell your Mom and Dad Rosario’s got some special places just for you!

At Jardín de los Niños, you can see how Mr. DaVinci’s inventions work, play with famous paintings, have your face decorated, make masks, ride the flying machine, make music with the sound machine, be a pirate and climb a magic mountain (Friday-Sunday, holidays 2-7 p.m. Parque de la Independencia, Av del Lago, between Av Lugones and Av del Museo, Tel: 480-2421, E-mail: Entry: $0.80).

Isla de los Inventos lets you make things with wood, clay and fabric. It also has plays, a reading corner and many other worlds to explore (Friday-Sunday, holidays 2-7 p.m. Corrientes and Wheelwright, Tel: 449-6510, E-mail: Entry: $0.80).

Get out in the country to La Granja de la Infancia where you can play in a tree house, water the gardens and pet the animals (Av Presidente Perón 8000, Tel: 480-7848, E-mail: Entry: $0.80).

Another place for young folk is Museo de los Niños (Tuesday-Sunday, holidays 1-8 p.m. Alto Rosario Shopping, Junín 501, Tel: 410-6680).

Getting There

Three of the museums are located in the city. To get to Granja de la Infancia, catch bus no. 35-9 “Pérez” from the corner of San Juan and Roca streets. Tell the driver you want to get off at the Granja. Don’t forget to pick up a tarjeta magnética for the fare (see Getting Around Rosario for details).

Travel Tips:

Many museums close January and February or have reduced hours during those months. During the summer, they also have special programs.
