Getting To and Away

Rosario is 300 kilometers (186 mi) north of Buenos Aires and 150 kilometers (93 mi) south of Santa Fe capital.

Bus

Rosario’s Terminal de Ómnibus Mariano Moreno is about three kilometers (1.8 mi) from downtown (Santa Fe and Cafferata, Tel: 437-3030, URL: www.terminalrosario.com.ar). The website lists up-to-date schedules on all services to national and international destinations. Almost 50 city busses go to the terminal. Major ones to downtown are 142 and 146. Ask at the tourism information desk which will take you closest to your destination.

Air

Aeropuerto Internacional Rosario Islas Malvinas is 15 kilometers (9 mi) west of downtown, accessible by Ruta Nacional 9 or by Avenida Jorge Newbery (Av Newbery s/n, Tel: 451-6300, URL: www.aeropuertorosario.com). It handles national and international flights. To get to the airport with public transportation, take the Las Rosas-Aeropuerto bus from Plaza Sarmiento (Entre Ríos and San Luis) (hourly 6 a.m.-8 p.m., $1).

Aerolíneas Argentinas flies once daily to Buenos Aires (35-45 min, $74 one way, including all taxes) (Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-noon. Córdoba 85, Tel: 420-8135). Sol Líneas Aéreas goes to Tucumán, Córdoba and Buenos Aires, as well as to Punta del Este, Uruguay (airport, Tel: 451-6300 / 0810-444-4765, URL: www.sol.com.ar). Gol Líneas Aéreas has flights to Argentina and Brazilian destinations (airport, Tel: 0810-266-3232, E-mail: contactenos@golnaweb.com.br, URL: www.voegol.com.br). Lan handles national and international flights (Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-6 p.m. San Luis 470, piso 7).

Train

The Rosario Norte station is the only train depot still in use (Avenida A del Valle 2744-2750). City busses 134 and 135 connect it with downtown. Two railroad companies have passenger service to Rosario.

Boat

Boat services on the Río Paraná may be cancelled due to river or climatic conditions.

From Estación Fluvial de Rosario, Belgrano and Rioja):

Embarcadero La Fluvial runs launches to Vladimir, Deja Vu, Waikiki, Dixon Beach and Punta Arenas on the Upper Delta Islands (hourly from 10 a.m., last return 7 p.m.; round trip adults $4.25, children $2.25). Also does 1.5-hour cruises on the Río Paraná (weekends and holidays 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., $5.50, children under 6 years old free). From Embarcadero Costa Alta (Av E Carrasco and R. Gutiérrez, between Playa Florida and the Rosario-Victoria bridge) is boat service to Isla Invernada, Orly in summer (December-February) (every 20 min 10 a.m.-9 p.m., $3 round trip). Tickets are sold dockside. The fee includes use of all club facilities on the island.

Arval sells tickets for the Buenos Aires-Colonia Buquebus (Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-1 p.m., 3-7:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Buenos Aires 841, Tel: 448-4477).
