Camarones is 252 kilometers (157 mi) south of Trelew and 262 kilometers (163 mi) north of Comodoro Rivadavia. At Km 1640 of Ruta Nacional 3 is the turn-off for Ruta Provincial 30, a sinuous road that leads to Camarones (70 km / 42 mi). Camarones can also be reached by Ruta Provincial 1 from Trelew (good gravel, 253 km / 157 mi). This road passes through Cabo Raso, a small historical town ideal for sunbathing, hiking, camping and fishing (80 km / 48 mi from Camarones; hotel, basic services). Camarones has one gas station, a mechanic, tire repair shop and bicycle taller.
There public transportation year-round only from Trelew: El 'andĂș (Monday Wednesday, Friday 8 a.m., return same day 4 p.m.; $10 one way, $17 round trip; 3-3.5 hours). The Friday bus goes by way of Rawson ($11 one way, 19 round trip). During the annual Salmon Festival, buses also run from Comodoro Rivadavia.
