Caleta C贸rdova - Other Activity Comodoro Rivadavia - Argentina

Caleta C贸rdova is a small fishing village north of Comodoro. Every day the flotilla amarrilla goes to sea, bringing back pejerrey (Patagonia silverside) and other deep-sea creatures for market. Caleta C贸rdova a popular seaside resort, with artisans, restaurants and beaches. Three kilometers (1.9 mi) south is Faro San Jorge, a 27-meter (89-ft) tall lighthouse built in 1925. Offshore is the free-standing farall贸n rock formation seen in Comodoro鈥檚 tourist pamphlets. To the north is Bosque Petrificado de la Costa, Rocas Coloradas and Pico Salamanca, all within the new Parque Mar铆timo Costero Patagonia Austral.

Buses depart from along San Mart铆n in downtown Comodoro Rivadavia (Monday-Saturday every 2-4 hr 5:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m.; Sunday, holidays 5 buses 8:15 a.m.-8:30 p.m.; last return 9:15 p.m.; $0.80).

Travel Tips:

Caleta C贸rdova was founded in 1925 as the shipping port for Astra Oil Company. Since 1936, its activity has been focused on fishing.
