Parque Nacional Monte León is 31 kilometers (18 mi) from Piedra Buena and 45 kilometers (27 mi) from Puerto Santa Cruz. If going in your own vehicle, take Ruta Nacional 3 south to the turn-off from where it is about 20 kilometers (12 mi) to the ranger station. On rainy days the road to the park is impassable. You can also reach the national park with a tour from Río Gallegos or Puerto Santa Cruz.
