Puerto San Julián is three kilometers (1.8 mi) off Ruta Nacional 3, 350 kilometers (218 mi) south of Caleta Olivia and 360 kilometers (224 mi) north of Río Gallegos. The town has all services for auto drivers.

The bus terminal is on Avenida San Martín, between Cabral and Pelligrini, 10 blocks from the main part of town (tourism office, bathrooms, restaurant / bar). Buses originate in other cities, passing through Puerto San Julián. Schedules change with the seasons, with more departures and destinations in the summer when advance booking is recommended.

To Caleta Olivia / Comodoro Rivadavia and points between: midnight-1:30 a.m., 2.30-4 p.m.; $15-17 / $17-22; 6 hr – Sportman, Don Otto / Patagónico, Andesmar, El Pingüino, Vía Tac.

To Buenos Aires and points north: 12:30-1 a.m., $105-126, 32 hr – Don Otto / Patagónica (also at 2:45 p.m.), Vía Tac, Andesmar. Pass through Trelew ($38-44, 12 hr), Puerto Madryn ($43-51, 13.5 hr), Bahía Blanca ($74-86, 24 hr).

To Los Antiguos: Taqsa (1.15 a.m., $36. 10.5 hr)

To Río Gallegos and points between: 1-4 a.m., 2-6:30 p.m.; $17-22, 5-5.5 hr – Sportman, Don Otto / Patagónico, El Pingüino, Vía Tac; Taqsa and Andesmar (6:15 a.m.) go by way of Puerto Santa Cruz ($8).

Vía Tac also has service to Córdoba ($100), Tucumán ($125) and Jujuy ($142). Taqsa goes twice weekly to Bariloche (11:30 p.m., $63).

The Lade airline company has an office at the bus terminal, although no flights leave from Puerto San Julián. The nearest departure points are Comodoro Rivadavia and Río Gallegos.
