The relatively unknown Garganta del Río Fitz Roy--it makes infrequent appearances on most maps--is a short, easy trek. Starting in El Chaltén, the one-hour hike follows a path through lenga beech forest, growing steeper when it aligns with and runs along the river. The trail features a natural viewpoint where you can take in the valley, the serpentine Fitz Roy, Cerro Solo and Laguna Torre, where the hike ends.
