The nearly two-hour Piedras Blancas hike is moderately difficult (12 km / 7.2 mi). The glacier views from its trail are well worth the effort. From Campamento Poincenot, a climbers-only campground, take the right fork of the trail. The incline is a bit of a challenge, but more worrisome are the numerous boulders. If hiking to Laguna Piedra Blancas, you must register with APN and check with them the night before about weather and trail conditions.
