El Chaltén Hotels

El Chaltén has a broad range of lodging options, from campgrounds to comfortably simple resorts. Many El Chaltén hostels are geared to budget travelers, and four of them are Hosteling International members. In the summer high season prices rise and reservations are highly recommended. After Semana Santa (Easter Week), many hotels and cabins close in El Chaltén. Camping is possible until the weather turns cold. Each year, as winter tourism draws more visitors, more and more inns stay open, but the list of El Chaltén hostels changes from year to year. Discounts during high season are common.

NOTE: The two free campgrounds the APN had, Campamento Confluencia at the east entrance of town and Campamento Madsen at the north end, are now permanently closed.
