The owners of Los Notros, the luxury lodge that overlooks the Perito Moreno glacier, have recently set up shop in El Chaltén, opening the most extravagant hotel in town with multi-night all-inclusive packages. Los Cerros is sleek yet cozy, with panoramic windows to admire the sweeping views of the river valley and mountainous peaks. The rooms are comfortable and rustically decorated, but don’t have TVs to encourage visitors to spend time in the great outdoors. However, there is a TV room downstairs and WiFi available. The on-site restaurant offers gourmet Patagonian cuisine, such as lamb, hare (yes, rabbit!) stew, fish, and wild game, paired with fine Argentine wines. The hotel can also arrange local excursions with a Los Glaciares national park ranger, including horseback riding, half or full-day hikes, sailing, ice walks and glacier treks.
