Perched on the peak of the Nimes peninsula, Design Suites offers spectacular panoramic views of Lake Argentino. Designed by Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott, the emphasis here is on space and style. Common areas are open and bright, allowing the natural beauty of the surroundings to stand out. The hotel wisely makes use of its prime lakeside location—dramatic floor to ceiling windows offer views of the surrounding Patagonian terrain. Rooms feature king-size beds and bathtubs and modern style bathrooms. Amenities include an indoor and outdoor pool, business center, restaurant, bar, and lounge. There is also a gym and spa, as well as an art gallery featuring the work of local artists. The multilingual staff can arrange tours through the hotel. Design Suites is located two kilometers out of town, and provides a convenient shuttle service that departs every half hour.
