From basic campgrounds to five-star luxury hotels, there's a lodging option in El Calafate to suit every budget. There are some centrally located hotels near Avenida Libertador, and many smaller inns and hostels have recently popped up on the fringes of town. Prices go up during the high tourist season (generally from October to April; the peak is from December to February), and visitors may find that good value is hard to come by during this time. Many hotels only accept cash, and reservations are highly recommended when El Calafate gets busy.
