Toma Wine Bar

Location:
Av. del Libertador 1359
El Calafate, Argentina

Restaurant

By Meggan Rau

Toma Wine Bar is a great place to sample and learn about Argentine wines while enjoying creative fusion cuisine. The extensive wine list includes excellent selections from both famous wineries and lesser-known vineyards. Ordering by the glass is recommended, and allows you to experience a wider range of wines. The sommelier is happy to assist you in your wine selection and will guide you in your food pairings. The menu features some unusual items like sweetbreads in honey and soy sauce, and ñandú, an ostrich-like bird native to South America. Or, if you’re not feeling quite so adventurous, go for the pork with chutney and mashed potatoes. There are two distinct dining rooms—one has a traditional Patagonian atmosphere; the other is smaller but more stylish. Toma Wine Bar is open daily from noon to 3 p.m., and from 6 p.m. to midnight.
