Set against a backdrop of the stunning Argentine lake district, San Martín de Los Andes is the place to go if you have the cash. San Martín has a picturesque location on the edge of Lake Lácar and is surrounded by woody hills.
San Martín is an ideal spot for snow sports during the winter, and in the summer aside from wandering through the charming streets, decent hiking, boat trips and fishing are available. Proximity to Parque Nacional Lanín and the volcano make for a pleasant trip. There are plenty of places to stay and lots of great places to eat, and all-in-all, San Martín is the perfect place to while away a few days. Due to its popularity, on holidays and other high season dates everything becomes more expensive.
