Santa Rosa is not famous for any specific landmarks, yet the area around the Plaza, the center of action and business, is a nice place to explore. The exterior of the modern cathedral is certainly unique, though the interior is disappointing. The natural history museum can take up to at least an hour and the cultural center (Centro Municipal de Cultura, Quintana 174), located in the old Mercado Principal, is worth a peek for original modern art installations and photo exhibitions by local artists.
What lies outside the town’s borders, however, is the real attraction. Parque Lugo and Parque Lihué Calel provide very different, yet equally beautiful surroundings, to experience the diversity of La Pampa. Lihué Calel, in particular, is difficult to access via public transport, but those with determination won’t be disappointed.
