Museum

By Elizabeth Sutcliffe

The Natural History Museum contains all the typical preserved animals, but primarily focuses on the evolution of species native to La Pampa. One room has  actual live animals, species of snakes (some venomous), found throughout the region. Rocks, minerals, archaeological findings and artisanal products are also on display. This small exhibition is surprisingly diverse. Some dinosaur fossils date back over 8,600 years!

The staff is helpful and happy to share their regional expertise. A visit to the museum is a good natural history brush-up, especially before heading out to one of the nature reserves. It also could solely serve as an interesting way to pass the time before the next bus.
