It is hard to believe that this subtropical jungle (also called the Cloud Forest) is still in the otherwise desert-ish Jujuy. Calilegua is one of the best-known and easiest to access parks in northwest Argentina, and the sights are second to none. Verdant paths thick with jungle plants, deep ravines and stunning cliffs all lure outdoor lovers. And all this is to say nothing of the wildlife that populate the region, which range from toucans and bats to the endangered jaguars that call the yunga home. Ask at the tourist office in Humahuaca about treks and tours to the area.
