The Quebrada’s rough landscape leaves relatively few ways to get through it. El Quebradeño (tel: 427-1127) runs daily buses from Salta to San Antonio de los Cobres for around $4. The Tren a las Nubes has long been a favorite tourist attraction and means of seeing the Quebrada, though it does not stop and is currently not in use. It is possible to hike or ride on horse through the Quebrada, but not recommended to do so without a guide. The best option is driving through it. Along Buenos Aires, near Plaza 9 de Julio in Salta, are various agencies that run all sorts of tours through the canyon, many stopping in Santa Rosa de Tastil to see the ruins or heading all the way up to the salt flats.
