Museum

By Elizabeth Sutcliffe

This modern museum's main draw is its unique exhibit of La Reina del Cerro (the Queen of the mountain) – the mummy of Chuscha - a perfectly preserved young Inca girl offered to the gods during the 15th century. Crouched, with head bent, the mummy is mesmerizing. Other artifacts from her tomb are also on display, though the rest of the exhibition is heavy on the writing (all in Spanish).
