Getting around

+ Add a Photo

By Elizabeth Sutcliffe

From the bus station a taxi should cost no more than $1.50 to the city center, or it is an easy 8 block stroll (without heavy bags.) Once there, all city sights and accommodations are situated in the blocks around Plaza 9 de Julio making it pleasant to explore Salta on foot. Buses also run along the main avenues with destinations clearly marked at the front, useful for visiting places slightly further afield, like the shopping center. Salta has plenty of taxis which are easy to hail on the street or at the taxi stations, located at frequent intervals throughout the center.
