Getting to and from Salta

As the largest city in northwest Argentina, Salta serves as a major transportation hub. The bus terminal, located southeast of the main plaza and near the teleferico, provides daily long-distance services to Buenos Aires, Rosario, Córdoba, Tucumán, La Quiaca, Resistencia, Posadas, Puerto Iguazú and Mendoza.

International service to northern Chile is available with the company Géminis. Buses leave three to four times weekly and travel first to San Pedro de Atacama for immigration and onto Calama.
