The bus terminal is well-equipped with confiteria, locutorio, kiosk, ATM and lost luggage services - ideal if in a hurry or arriving in Salta unprepared. In the city itself, the main concentration of services are in the four blocks surrounding Plaza 9 de Julio. Several ATMs are on the central Plaza and down España, with a Casa de Cambio on the corner of España and B.Mitre. Many cybercafes line Buenos Aires in particular, and the pedestrian streets of Florida and Alberdi form part of the Zona Comercios (commercial zone), where everyday items, electricals and other goods are sold. For tourist information on both the city and provincial area, head to the Provincial tourist office at Buenos Aires 93. Staff speaks English and has an impressive array of information. Tel: (387) 4310950. www.turismosalta.gov.ar Open: Mon – Fri 8 a.m – 9 p.m and Sat/Sun 9 a.m – 8 p.m. There’s also a city only tourist office at San Martin and Buenos Aires which keeps the same hours.
