The tourist offices provide a full list of Catamarca’s art, history and other museums. One not to miss is Museo Arqueológico Adán Quiroga (Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., 3-8 p.m.; weekends 9 a.m.-8 p.m., holidays 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Sarmiento 450, Tel: 43-7413, E-mail: maadanquiroga@hotmail.com. Entry: Adults $1.75, retirees $0.80, children to 12 years old free; free on Tuesday). Day escapes are to to Dique Las Pirquitas or El Rodeo for some hiking, fishing or horseback riding. Another is to visit the village churches in Valle de Catamarca and Pueblo Perdido.
