Tucumán Things to See and Do

follow us

Plaza Independencia attracts people throughout the day and is the center of activity in this busy city. Nearby is the Casa Histórica, which is where Argentina declared its independence from Spain. Museo Arqueológico is worth a visit to see some of the important documents from that era. The enormous Parque 9 de Julio is an excellent place to get some exercise or relax in a green environment.

Outside of the town, several circuits allow the visitors to see the beauty of Tucuman's surroundings, for instance the forests of Sierra de Aconquija.

The Circuito de las Yungas brings you through several villages, where you can visit a monastery, do some fishing or just admire the landscape.

The Circuito Sur will lead you to the National Park Los Alisos where stand the ruins of Alpachiri. If you go further you will arrive at Simoca where you will be able to buy fresh local food (candies, honey, cakes...)

The Valle de Choromoros and Valles Calchaquíes both offer splendid landscapes and ruins that you can discover by hiking or horse riding.
