Renowned as one of the best hostels in Argentina, Penthouse 1004 epitomizes backpacker bang for the buck. The highlight of this lodge is the view. From the 10th floor of the Bariloche Center Building – the tallest building in town – guests are treated to sweeping views of Lago Nahuel Huapi and the surrounding Patagonian range. Bedrooms are simple, some with views akin to a three-star hotel, and the bathrooms are cleaned frequently. Guests routinely plan community dinners where everyone is responsible for a dish, and dinners can go into the late hours (aided no doubt by copious amounts of wine and beer). The bilingual staff are extremely friendly and can help organize tours or point you in the direction of the community bulletin board. Breakfast and tax are included in the price, which, at $30 per night for a double and $12 per night for a dorm, is comparable with area hotels but with better amenities (including wi-fi, an excellent communal kitchen and a central location).

Located in the center of town, this hostel is easily accessed by bus, taxi or (if you are in the city center) on foot.

I loved the view, staff, the people, atmosphere, the parties, the kitchen, the city it self. To be honest I didn't dislike anything. I know it sounds a bit stange, but it's true. I really loved this place and Iwill go back as soon as I have enough money.
