By Shanie Matthews

Created by two Irishmen and an Argentine, Pudu is one of the more worthy hostels in town, for a few reasons. First, the owners are big travelers themselves. They know what creature comforts are missed whey you’re away from home. The building has recently been remodeled to create ample space for 32 people. Rooms are very clean and outfitted with warm duvets and fluffy pillows. There are views of the lake from all rooms. They offer an Irish Sunday Roast and an asado (Argentine bbq) once a week. There is also a bar in the hostel.

Loved the friendly, relaxed atmosphere, the guys who run it really make you feel at home, and of course their fabulous dog Mila! The location is spectacular, and the rates are very reasonable.

An absolute gem!

Pudu is an amazing place to stay, whether long term or short term. Owners are serious travellers who know what fellow travellers need when away from home! Fantastic views from the rooms, delicious fresh breakfast and the monthly bbq is great fun! Lovely relaxed atmosphere, really sociable place to stay. Highly recommended!

Home away from home

Great hostel...met some lovely people here. Small and homely, I liked how all the guests mingle, cook, drink and party together. The rooms had great views over the lake, the beds were super comfy and free brekkie in the mornings was an added bonus. Fabulous owners and staff, as well as Mila - the best hostel dog around!!
