No matter how you slice it, Antares is among the coolest spots in Bariloche. A well-designed brewery built around seven copper brew vats, this is the Bariloche branch of what is fast becoming an Argentine institution. Beers include a kolsch, scotch ale, porter, cream stout, imperial stout, barley wine and honey beer, and all can be tried as part of the Antares sampler ($4.60 for seven 3-oz. glasses). Pints run between $3.30 and $4, and its worth trying one of the imperial stout or, if you need the extra kick, the barley wine, at 10 percent alcohol. In addition, Antares serves up a selection of food on par with the brew. Worth a try are the German sausages ($8) or the trout ($10). Pizas ($5-8), sandwiches ($4-7) and of course picadas ($8-22) are also available.
