Horseback Riding

By Caroline Bennett

The long and gently winding trails that dot the area are superb for horseback riding. Trip possibilities include: a short, few hour ride ride, days exploring the region and -even- weeks spent on top of a horse crossing the Andes from Bariloche to Osorno, Chile.

Many outfitters in town offer popular daytrips into Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi or to local estancias, which include a traditional barbecue.

Dinma Patagonia has special permission to arrange trips into the protected area surrounding the Valley of the Nirihuau River, one of the few areas possible to spot Huemals (Patagonian deer).
