Nature and craft lovers of all stripes should consider taking a detour to El Bolsón while traveling through Patagonia. El Bolsón is a great place to just sit back, drink some mate (a caffeinated drink made from yerba mate leaves), and take in your surroundings like the locals do. Other than the common mate circle, El Bolsón offers a range of activities: from music festivals to hut-linked trekking adventures, not to mention river rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, backcountry skiing, or Mapuche Indian tribe museums.
