There is a main city bus service, Transporte Esquel (453529) that offers trips throughout the main vicinity. There are various taxi companies that roam the streets, all are safe. The main street to find a hired car is Avenida Alvear and 25 de Mayo. Walking in town is safe, especially in the main city near bars and restaurants. There is city transportation to the ski area, although majority of locals hitchhike.
