Esquel offers two main seasons for travelers, winter and summer. La Hoya is the main pull in the winter. The ski area offers some of the best terrain available in Patagonia, with miniscule lift lines and ticket prices that date back to the 1950s. If skiing, snowboarding or enjoying a winter wonderland isn’t your thing than the summer solstice should be your calling to venture to Esquel. The area wakes up in spring to the sound of a huge variety of fun activities taking place. Fly fishing, river rafting, horseback riding, glacier trekking, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking and gold panning are some of your options. On off seasons the town becomes much quieter and some stores and guide services close shop.
