Run Cattle With the Gauchos

The annual branding of calves on a ranch calls for a huge party, called a Yerra. At Estancia Ranquilco, they slaughter a cow for a grand BBQ and gauchos and friends come from all over the surrounding countryside for the feast. Of course, the great food, wine, music and dancing is all the better if you've worked a long, dusty day in the saddle.

In 2010, Estancia Ranquilco is offering a 7-day cattlework program during their annual branding. This program is for horse enthusiasts seeking an adventure vacation that will test and enhance their riding skills and offer them a glimpse into the lives and work of the world’s last cowboys.
