Chapelco

Cerro Chapelco is San Martín’s winter playground. A ski area with over ten lifts, an altitude of 6,340 feet and slopes averaging between 25 and 40 degrees, Chapelco is, understandably, one of Argentina’s favored ski resorts. It is also a great place to take in the views of the surrounding volcanoes, lakes and Andes. In addition to skiing, the mountain has tons of family activities such as snowmobiling, dog sledding and snow shoeing expeditions. Due to its great location, the ski area tends to get quality snow season after season, allowing it to be open from June to October. Chapelco is also host to Festival del Montañes, Argentina’s largest snow festival in the late month of July – early August.
