One of a few teleferico options in Bariloche, the Cerro Otto gondola ride is probably the easiest to access thanks to a couple of tourist kiosks set about Bariloche’s city center. Buses will pick you up at one of the two stops (with one located at the corner of San Martin and Independencia and the other at the corner of Mitre and Villegas) and take you the five kilometers to the gondola station. Buses leave every half hour from these two stations from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and return every hour from 11:15 a.m. – 7:15 p.m. Once atop the mountain you can head outside for some hiking trails with gorgeous views or stay inside to shop the gift stores, peruse the art gallery or eat at the revolving restaurant with 360-degree views of the Lago Nahuel Huapi and the surrounding countryside. Food at the restaurant is a bit more expensive than you’ll find in Bariloche, with basic pastas starting around $8 and meat plates starting at $13. A tasty alternative is the picada plate, which goes for $17 for two or $23 for four. A roundtrip on the teleferico costs $12.50 per person, bus trip included. Be sure to bring a camera.
