Parque Nacional Lanín & The Pehuenia Circuit Services

Located in downtown San Martín de los Andes (E. Frey 749; 54 02972 427 233), Parque Lanín's official headquarters (intendencia) provides visitors with free information and pamphlets about hiking trails and campsites in the park. The intendencia also includes a small park museum and is the easiest place to obtain a fishing license for the park. If you're planning to do any serious backcountry hiking, make sure you purchase a copy of Sendas y Bosques' map of the park. There are 19 different Park Ranger Stations (guardaparques), so make sure you register with one before embarking on a backcountry hike. Park entrance fees are equivalent to $3 USD. There are five ATMs in downtown San Martin de los Andes, but if you're planning to stay at any backcountry lodges, be sure to bring some cash with you so you don't have to trek back into town. The largest and best hospital within the vicinity of the park is Hospital Regional Ramón Carrillo (Av. San Martín y Rodhe. San Martin; Tel. 02972 427211, Emergencies 107).
