Situated on an extinct volcano, Parque de Nieve (Snow Park) is located on a sacred Mapuche site and is operated by the local Mapuche people. Although skiing is the largest activity at the park, with only one t-bar lift, this is one of the smallest ski resorts you will ever come across. With only three ski trails, the mountain never becomes overcrowded and is much more affordable than many other skiing options in Patagonia. In high season, lift tickets cost around only $20 USD per day, and skis and snowboards can be rented for about the same price as well. Lessons are available, as are other activities including snowshoe treks, dog sledding, and snowmobiling.
