When to Go

The summer months, from mid-December to the beginning of March, are the busiest. Rates go up for nearly everything during those months, but travelers who visit outside of that time period will find that some activities and services are not offered. Summer temperatures are comfortable during the day but can get cool at night (45-75°F). Most of the Lake District is generally covered with snow throughout the winter months of July and August, during which time the ski resort towns fill up.
