From funky backpackers hostels, to low-key family lodges, to pampering, luxury resorts with spas and golf courses, Ushuaia has accommodations for every traveler, though lodging in this region is not cheap. During high season in January and February, it’s essential to reserve in advance. In the winter, many hotels close for the season; those that stay open typically offer slightly reduced rates. Check with the local tourism office for a list of accommodations open year round (Local tel: 432000 / Calling from outside of Tierra del Fuego: 0800-333-1476). In warmer months, camping is available at La Pista del Andino in Club Andino Ushuaia’s ski area, at Kawi Yoppen on Ruta Nacional km 3, and at Camping Municipal, 10 km west of town towards Tierra del Fuego National Park.
