The people of Bolivia

According to the most recent census (2005) Bolivia has a population of just under 9 million. The largest ethnic group is Quechua Indians, who live in south-central Bolivia and make up 30% of the population. Mestizos (mixed European-indigenous) also account for 30% of the population. The Aymara people, who live in west-central Bolivia as well as parts of Peru and Chile, make up 25%, and whites of European descent account for 15%.
