Torotoro is Bolivia smallest national park, but it’s also one of the most unique parks in the country. Attractions include an impressive mix of rock formulations and palaeontology, including dinosaur prints and marine fossils; deep canyons and waterfalls; pre-Columbian ruins and ancient rock paintings; some beautiful wildlife, including the extremely rare Red-fronted Macaw; and a labyrinth of caves to explore.
Hiking goes hand in hand with the main attractions in the park – it’s two hours each way to the Gruta de Umajalanta, about three kilometers to the Cañon de Torotoro and a testing four hour hike each way to the ruins at Llama Chaqui.
