Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco - Historical Building Cochabamba - Bolivia

The Iglesia de San Francisco (Calle 25 de Mayo, on the corner of Calle Bolívar) was built in the late 16th century in the Renaissance style, and is one of the oldest buildings in Cochabamba. The convent was added in the 17th century and the belfry tower and vault were later remodeled in a basic neo-classical style. The interior of the church has wood carvings covered in gold leaf with images divided into three columns.

The church is open for mass most evenings at 7 p.m. and is sometimes open in the mornings.

Here are other activities in and around Cochabamba that may be of interest: Catedral Metropolitana de Cochabamba, Convento-Museo Santa Teresa, Iglesia Santa Domingo and Palacio Portales.
