Museo Arqueológico - Museum Cochabamba - Bolivia

The Museo Arqueológico, run in conjunction with the San Simon University, displays a wide-range of artefacts from different Bolivian cultures, including Tiahuanaco, Yampara, Sauce and Mojacoya. There are some interesting painted ceramics from the Omereque culture, stone carvings, human remains, fossils and a display of textiles, weavings, instruments and ceremonial costumes from around Bolivia. You can also learn about the unique customs of the hombres de agua – Los Chipayas – an ancient tribe who live on Lago Coipasa, and the pre-Columbian site at Incallajta.

Monday –Friday 8.30 a.m.-5.30 p.m., Saturday 8.30–11.30 a.m. Entry $3. Guided tours available i English and Spanish.
