Sucre Things to See and Do

follow us

Sucre has an endless number of sites and activities that will keep even the most hard to please visitor engaged for a few days. The town’s jewel in the crown has to be the UNESCO recognized town centre, with its perfectly preserved white-washed buildings, including the many churches - from the central Cathedral to the convent of San Felipe. There are also some great museums in Sucre, highlighting local costumes, history and artwork, to name a few.

The infamous dinosaur tracks, the biggest in the world, are just five kilometers from the centre. Adrenaline junkies can go horseback riding, mountain biking, quad-biking or paragliding in the surrounding countryside and there are also some great hikes. Cave paintings, waterfalls, traditional indigenous communities and haciendas can all be found within a few hours’ drive of the town and provide the perfect opportunity to get off the beaten track.
