This historical building on the main plaza started life as a bank, then a family home. It’s now a university museum displaying antiques collected by a Dr. Alfredo Gutiérrez Valenzuela, a Sucre born diplomat, and gives an idea of how a typical colonial home looked. The furniture dates from the end of 17th century and includes ornate chairs, Venetian style mirrors, marble statues, locally made china and ornaments made from silver and gold dug from near-by PotosÃ, which belonged to the prince of Castillo Glorieta.
