Beautiful colonial buildings mean that there are some exceptional places to stay in Sucre. Most accommodation can be found just a few blocks away from the main plaza, making Sucre, Bolivia sightseeing easy.
There are a good variety of mid-range hotels available in Sucre, many set in carefully restored buildings from the 16th, 17th and 18th century. For around $40 a night you can snatch up a antique-filled room at the Capital Plaza Hotel, which is definitely not the norm for Bolivia. Sightseeing ain't easy, but luckily the Capital Plaza Hotel has a pool for you to take a dip in after you spend the day exploring the town.
Budget accommodation in Bolivia is a bit thinner on the ground but there are a lot of cheap local hotels along Hernando Siles. It may be hard to find Sucre hostels aimed at backpackers that are friendly, secure and social. The cheapest option in town is the Amigo Hostel, which rents out dorm beds for $5 a night. Unfortunately, some travelers complain the staff at the Amigo Hostel is not as friendly as the name suggests. As far as Sucre hostels are concerned, La Dolce Vita seems to garner the best reviews: hot showers, friendly staff, and a sunny balcony. The fact that you can rent a single room with a shared bath for just $7 makes La Dolce Vita even more appealing!
