The post office is on the corner of Calle Junín and Calle Ayacucho (4-645-4960 / 4-644-3040). It’s open Monday –Friday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. – 6 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. – midday. If you’re sending an international package over 2kg, you’ll need to go to the desk on the right of the office as you walk in. There’s a shop that sells boxes on site but it’s not always open – in the Mercado Central you can buy boxes for $0.15 (Bs1). You’ll also need to wrap your package in brown paper.
The internet connection in Sucre can be slow and unreliable. There are internet cafés all over town, especially on Calle Arenales, and many of them have Skype – try the shop on Calle Aniceto Arce next to Plaza Juan Frías de Herrán or the one next to Taboada chocolate shop on Calle Arenales.
Phone shops can be found on every corner. Many places do special offers for international calls, shop around to get the best deals. The connections aren’t that reliable though, you might be better off using Skype.
